Abbey Clancy is returning as head judge of BNTM this year, the show that propelled her to fame when she appeared in its second cycle as a contestant before her famous modelling career in 2006.
As a beauty and haircare expert, with supermodel standards, we thought it only right to share the secrets from the woman with the top-set tresses on TV.
Hey Abby, as head-judge on BNTM you need to set an example, what are your beauty tips in preparation for the new season?
Old and simple but I drink lots of water and get a good nights’ sleep – it works. I also use Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body which gives your skin a wonderful glow.
How important is it for you to have great hair in front of the camera?
Shooting lots definitely takes its toll on your hair. I go to Paul Edmonds for treatments once a month. SHOW Beauty Repair Hair Mask overnight is also a brilliant way to condition your hair and get maximum shine which is great under studio lights.
Have any of the models ever given you a beauty tip you love?
One of our contestants last season used to put pile cream under her eyes to reduce bags and puffiness - I still need to try this one!
How crucial is the makeover episode in the season? Does it help the judges identify the winners?
Makeover week is absolutely crucial. A lot of time and thought goes into the looks and it's about turning a pretty girl next door into a potential top model. Look at Linda Evangelista, her hair cut transformed her career and made her a true icon to this day. This is what we try and do. For me the competition doesn't start until the show is over and our top model is crowned. We need to be confident our girl can compete with the big hitters of the modelling world, the Gigi's the Bella's etc.
Totally! And as a model yourself, what is the best hair tip you could give our readers?
Keep heat and blow drying to a minimum when not working as your hair as a working model does take a battering!
We agree, if styling isn’t done with the right products it can be harmful. We know that’s one of the reasons you love SHOW Beauty. What products and processes do you always rely on?
Don't wash your hair everyday either natural oils are great for it - just use the SHOW Beauty Premiere Dry Shampoo andDecadence Hair Fragrance for a freshen up. A great dry shampoo. Hair oil – either Argan or Coconut and of course, a shampoo and conditioner to suit your hair type.
