Love the way celebrities are breaking all the rules with perfectly carefree hair? Mikey Kardashian, who is responsible for creating that livid-in extra tousle on Tamara Ecclestone Rutland, shows us three styling techniques to look effortlessly cool this party season.
It can be easy to go overboard with clothes and jewellery around this time of year, so I advise my clients to opt for more effortless hair. With Tamara I do flat waves - they are easier than you might think. First, I shape the hair with my hands and clamp GHD Platinum Straighteners over the top to create loose waves with an airy look. I then use the straighteners around the edges, making extra effort to keep the ends straight so it’s not too bouncy. I then finish with a few pumps of Show Beauty Working Texture Spray, which is my hero product to give an undone, beachy feel.
This new ponytail look is the party seasons must-wear style. It’s reworked with root lift and texture so is flattering on everyone. I gave Amanda Holden an undone, textured ponytail by starting off with a spritz of Divine Thickening Mist through the roots and lengths for hold and grip, and then blow-dried using a paddle brush to get volume at the roots – everyone looks better with a bit of lift! I then gathered the hair and secured neatly with a band just below the crown, being careful not to flatten the volume on top while keeping the sides tight.
Uncomplicated, chunky waves have become a Hollywood staple. Katie Piper recently wanted something reminiscent of Old Hollywood, so I sprayed Lux Volume Mist throughout her roots and lengths and blow-dried from side-to-side, wrapping the hair around a barrel brush for movement and bounce. I kept it in place with Premiere Finishing Spray, working it through the lengths too for a bit of lived-in texture.
