How to get Spring’s fresh up-do’s…in minutes
70's SIDE ROLL
This is the most feminine up-do of the S/S18 catwalks. It looks tricky but it’s fast and doesn’t require a blow-dry first. Simply create a deep side-parting and start twisting the fuller section until you get to the opposite ear. Then tuck in the ends and pin. Start on damp hair for a sleeker, tighter finish or on day-old hair for a quick fix. Finish with a spritz of Show Beauty Premiere Finishing Spray for hold and shine.
You need a bit of texture for grip so this look is perfect for air-dry devotees. Mist Working Texture Spray through the lengths first, then create the twist at the base by splitting the ponytail into three. You then just literally knot the side sections together, and pin before it slips out.
This is a sporty style that’s super neat. Squeeze Riche Grooming Balm through damp hair and slick hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck with the aid of a wide-toothed comb, then secure with a snag-free band - but remember not to pull your hair all the way out into a ponytail, but instead to create a loop and then wind the ends of the hair around the base, pinning with a hair grip underneath. Super chic!
PONY CLUB TIE
Upgrade your pony by winding some black fabric around the bind. For the best finish, smooth Hair Treatment Oil through newly dried hair, then comb and secure. Finish by tying the fabric around the ponytail for two-inches and a spritz of Premiere Finishing Spray over the top of the head.
DUTCH GIRL BRAIDS
The sexiest take on the face-framing plaits - this look is confident but the fly-aways keep it soft. You’ll need moderately long hair for this one. To recreate it, smooth Lux Volume Mousse through the lengths, then divide hair into two and plait both sides. Secure the ends and position on top of your head and pin. To stop it looking too twee use the end of a pintail comb and tease it out for a messier, edgy look.
